Farm A is best for kids who feel comfortable with the basics of baseball and no longer need to use a tee. At this level, kids continue to work on accurately throwing and catching the ball. They also learn the basics of swinging at live pitches. If your first grader is starting baseball at this level, coaches will make the call on whether a tee is needed during the early part of the season. That said, our coaches strive to have all kids "tee-less" after the first month of play.  

League Age: 7-8

A few advanced first graders and most second graders

Farm AA is when baseball may become intimidating to kids, thanks to the introduction of kid pitch. The games also become more competitive. No need to worry, however, as the coaches will work with your player to get comfortable with the shift. Coaches pitch the first two innings, players pitch the remaining innings. 

League Age: 8-10

A few advanced second graders, all third graders, and most fourth graders

Minors is entirely player pitch, which makes it a faster-paced game than Farm AA. Games feature live pitching, stealing, and bunting. The infield fly rule is finally in effect. Players should be able to throw more accurately at this level and should feel comfortable in the batter's box. General rules of the game need to be understood before joining a Minors team. 

League Age: 10-12

A few advanced fourth graders, most fifth graders and all sixth graders.

Majors players lead this League. At this level, all players should have at least one season of previous experience playing Minors. The pitchers at this level may be able to throw off-speed and breaking pitches alongside a standard fastball.
